PHOTOGRAPHY

Hi there! I am Laura Langerak. I'm a Christian, a wife, a busy mom, and a creative photographer. I am happily married to Tyler... the most caring, meek, hardworking, patient man you'll ever meet. We both grew up in the city and now live in a small log cabin and have 3 cows, 14 chickens, some loved barn cats, and a golden retriever (breeding soon!)  We try to live simply so that our children will learn contentment in such a materialistic world. I would love to be completely off the grid, but that's pretty hard to do  in the photography business ;)

 

Our kids all look like different versions of Tyler. Hayden is an an outgoing, animal-loving 6-year-old and she is literally always happy; Boaz (Bo) is a tractor-loving, shy, goofy, white blonde momma's boy and he is 4; and little Edelyn (AKA Etty) is a busy, hilarious, super fun 2 year old who loves to make messes and make everyone laugh. We are expecting our 4th baby in March as well. I thank God every day for the beautiful family He has blessed us with.

I got into photography in 2013, but I was a full time nurse at the time. After our son was born, I quit being a nurse so I could dedicate more time to photography. I have always had a creative mind, and I find myself staying up until 3 am editing and being inspired by my clients. I love how unique every session is, and I edit to highlight the messy, raw, emotional moments.

 

I do not want to pose you for "the perfect shot for instagram". To me, the perfect shot is the one where you are being 100% you... and that looks different for everyone! Capturing human interaction, genuine emotion, and individual personalities is my favorite part of photography.  It is my job to get you comfortable so that you are free to be yourself and feel confident in front of the camera... challenge accepted :) 

 

My all time favorite things to photograph are weddings and lifestyle newborn sessions, but I do a little of everything. Contact me for any questions you have about my services and pricing!
